A Clean Well-Lighted Place
In the story A Clean Well-Lighted Place an old man with
nothing left in this world tried to hang himself. His niece cut him down, and
in my opinion, I don’t think he was too happy with that. When you get old in
life, things get taken from you ; but you don’t realize that until stuff gets
taken from you. Nature is smarter than people think. It strips things away from
you until the question finally pops into your head. You start wondering why you’re
still living even though you have nothing to live for. That’s what happened to
the old man. He just had nothing to live for.
