What Place Is It?
The sun is starting to gently fall.
As I watch with patients I take everything into account. The snow is melting
and patches of grass poke in and out like spots on a cow. Rays of sunlight shoot
through the trees and illuminate the wet snow. It’s so cold that I can see my
breath yet I feel so warm. My cheeks are red and my nose is stuffy. I stare at
the majestic land as I sit on the wet grass. A light breeze sweeps its way
through the forest. The trees wave side to side and make clacking noises as
they knock against each other. The trees look so dead yet move like they are
full of life. The sound of birds singing pour through the air. The tune is so
sweet and filled with joy. The sound of water rushing echoes throughout the
sky. It sounds like the roaring rapids of the Mississippi River. The sun fills the sky with
different shades . The sky is clear and filled with shades of pink,
yellow and purple.
As the fire ball in the air drops
behind the horizon, stars begin to pop; one by one they come out. The moon is
full and the world is silent. There are trillions of stars out and each one
shedding light, yet none of them have the power to light up the earth. The
sound of silence swept through the night sky. I fall asleep to the coldness of
the atmosphere and the dampness of the ground.
When I wake up fog is rising from
the ground like steam in a sauna. My breath is visible and mimics the smoke of
a pipe coming out. The sun is not strong enough to hurt my eyes so I can stare
almost directly at it. The ground is glistening with dew. My hands are bright
red and numb, but in order to see this amazing majestic sight it is worth it.
You may be wondering where this
place is? This place of harmony and peace. This place of bliss and Heaven on
earth. You might be wanting to go here on vacation. I can tell you how to get
there by just walking. At about 5:00 pm go into your back yard. That is where
you will see a miracle happen. It happens every day, it always has and always
will. If you haven’t gotten the moral of the story yet I will give it to you.
The moral is that people see something amazing happen every day, yet they don’t
take the time to enjoy it, then they proceed to complain about not being on
vacation enough, and not seeing enough beautiful things. If you want to see
something incredible, just watch the sunset in your own back yard.
